Welding Certification

The Fast Track AWS Welding Certification is a 120 hour course for the individual with prior manufacturing and/or welding experience who would like additional training to take their manufacturing career to the next level, and receive AWS (American Welding Society) certification. Individuals with these certifications and skills are commonly found in a variety of welding and manufacturing environments.

This course will begin with a review of basic manufacturing skills including shop math, measuring instruments, blueprint reading (including welding symbol interpretation) and arc welding theory. Students will learn theory specific to the arc welding processes applied in the lab. Prerequisite: Some manufacturing and/or welding experience, and familiarity with basic shop math and basic blueprint reading.

Students will perform welder certification tests in accordance to American Welding Society standards. The student may choose to take one or more of the certification tests offered by the College.

Students successfully passing welder qualification tests will be issued AWS certification paperwork by a Certified Welding Inspector. All students completing the general course work will be awarded a certificate of completion.

Course cost includes course training, textbooks, course materials and personal welding equipment and gear.
