Academic Research and Innovation

Research, Planning and Effectiveness (RPE) works closely with Academic and Student Affairs and the Executive Director of Friends of Saint Paul College Foundation and Alumni Relations to sustain and secure funding streams from federal, state and private sources. The status of previous funding sources is
tracked annually.

New and continued funding streams for FY12 include the Federal Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant, Next Generation Learning Challenge Directed Self-Placement Learning Grant (a Gates Planning Grant in partnership with Portland State University and a consortium of two other community colleges), Access and Opportunity MnSCU Legislative Funds, CCAMPIS Grant, U of M (CTE) Retention Grant, STEM Equity Pipeline Funds and Technical Skill Attainment Perkins Grants in Construction and in Administrative Support Services (now referred to as B-Tech).

New research initiatives for FY12 include FastTRAC programs for adult learners including electronic assessments in writing resources, assessment of core measures across the curriculum, evaluation of Power of YOU initiatives and analyses of satisfaction with entering student processes.
