Mary Finnegan has been an instructor at Saint Paul College since 1993. Her favorite part of teaching is observing when the students have the "Aha" moment when new information clicks. She says she loves “to teach anatomy because the human body is an awesome machine”. Mary is a passionate advocate for students learning the business piece of the Cosmetology/Esthetics/Nails curriculum because of the success she has experienced in running her own businesses. She wants her students “to have that same positive worklife” experience.

Mary belongs to the following professional organizations: National Cosmetology Association, Advance Aesthetics Education Association of MN, Comite'International d' Esthetique et de Cosmetologie (CIDESCO), Esthetics America, Esthetics MN. She is also a member of the Barber and Cosmetology Board of Examiners.

Mary Finnegan has been awarded the CIDESCO Diploma, and also has received a diploma from Oliver Thein Beauty School, and Associate in Applied Science degrees in both Esthetics and Cosmetology from Saint Paul College. She is a certified massage therapist and reflexology practitioner.
