College hosts fundraising event for Power of YOU

A meeting of community and philanthropic leaders will be held on April 23 to encourage support for the Power of YOU program. President Schwichtenberg has invited more than 150 local leaders to discuss the preliminary first-year results of the Power of YOU program, and to encourage continued financial support. So far, more than $3,000,000 has been committed from outside sources to support the Power of YOU students at Saint Paul College, Minneapolis Community and Technical College and Metropolitan State University. The program still needs an additional $2,600,000 to achieve the goals of the five-year demonstration project.

Mayor Chris Coleman, Metropolitan State President Wilson Bradshaw, and Mary Pickard, President of Travelers Foundation, along with President Schwichtenberg will encourage the participants to help us reach the goals of “The Power of YOU” through their financial support.
