New Mac-based computer lab to open

Creative pursuits and training will soon have a new home at Saint Paul College. This spring, the College will unveil a new, state-of-the-art Mac-based computer lab. The lab will include the latest software to serve photography courses and graphic design programs. It will also feature the latest iMac technology and the newest version of Adobe’s Creative Suite software, the industry standard for digital art production. In addition, the lab will include peripherals such as processing machines for digital photography.

A number of different discipline areas, including the College’s photography courses and its Computer Graphics and Visualization degree program, will make extensive use of the lab. The facility will function as “a cross-disciplinary lab” and serve a wide range of students. Aside from being the industry-standard platform for creative professionals, the use of the Macs will allow students to be trained in software on both Mac and PC operating systems.
