Customize your voice mail — easy access assistance

Now that the Unity voice mail system is up and running and you are fairly familiar with its various features, let me introduce another cool option that is available to you via the Web. You can use the Cisco Unity Personal Communication Assistant Web tool to customize how you and your callers interact with Cisco Unity by phone. You can also use it to personalize your Cisco Unity settings—including your recorded greetings and message delivery options or to set up message notification devices and to create private lists.

Access to the Cisco Unity Assistant is provided through the Cisco Personal Communications Assistant (PCA) Web site that the IT staff has already installed and configured. Follow the steps listed below to access this Web tool:

  1. Open the Web browser and type in https://unity.saintpaul.edu/ciscopca. Remember to type https and NOT http for a secure and private connection. You may be prompted to download and install ActiveX controls when you logon to this site the first time.

  2. It will open Cisco Personal Communications Assistant Page. Type in your user-id and password that you use to logon to the network and then type in “Mail” as the Domain. Click on Login.

  3. Next Click on Cisco Unity Assistant. This should take you to Cisco PCA page.

There are several tabs for different topics available at the top to the page. Feel free to browse and learn about each feature. If you need Help then from any screen click on Help menu and then click on the topic link.

You can also access and print the complete Unity PCA user manual that is available at http://intranet.saintpaul.edu/services/computers/CiscoUnityAssistantWebTool.pdf.

Feel free to contact Computer Services at 651.846.1440 or send a trouble ticket at http://saintpaulcollege.myworksite.com/ if you need assistance.
