Funding Priorities

When you give to the Friends of Saint Paul College you are giving students a chance to be trained on state-of-the-art equipment like the “sim dummy” shown. Our graduates enter the work-force with the latest knowledge and skills.

Accommodating enrollment growth is a priority for Saint Paul College.

Saint Paul College is the only public two-year college located in the heart of Minnesota’s capital city of Saint Paul. With origins dating back to 1910, it serves nearly 9,000 students each year. The College was recently recognized as on the top 50 fastest growing public two-year colleges in the nation, and has been ranked among the top five of Minnesota’s community and technical programs. Saint Paul College continues its long-standing commitment to the people in the community it serves.

Since its inception, Saint Paul College has provided outreach to urban residents, underrepresented students, and immigrants new to the city. Nearly 70 percent of its students live in the inner city. Roughly one-half are also persons of color and for the past several years, students of color have graduated from Saint Paul College consistently in the same proportions as majority students. Sixty-three percent of its students are the first in their families to pursue a college degree and 44 percent are classified as low income.

Friends of Saint Paul College was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to support and uphold the mission of Saint Paul College which is: Education for Employment – Education for Life by securing charitable gifts and grants in support of the College’s funding priorities.

There are two primary fundraising programs of the Friends of Saint Paul College — scholarships and education program support. These funds are raised through an ongoing annual giving campaign.
