Friends of Saint Paul College Sets Ambitious Goals for Future

In April of 2014, the Friends of Saint Paul College Foundation was awarded a capacity building grant from the Katherine B. Andersen Fund of the Saint Paul Foundation to develop its first strategic plan. A comprehensive planning process was facilitated by employing Ms. Kitty Gogins, an external consultant who is actively involved in strategic and project leadership initiatives. The Strategic Planning Development process started on October 27, 2014, and ended on May 5, 2015. During this period, 24 constituents were consulted, totaling 240 hours. The 2016-2020 Friends of Saint Paul College Strategic Plan was adopted by the Foundation Board in May 2015.

The Foundation Board was joined by three members of the College’s President’s Advisory Council who gained an in-depth understanding of the College’s strategic goals, reviewed the Foundation’s fundraising history, assessed challenges and opportunities, and developed a comprehensive and ambitious strategic plan. The Plan focuses on fundraising, outreach and friend raising, with Board members taking on significant responsibilities in moving the Foundation toward its goal of raising $3,275,000 by 2020. The Board size was increased from 15 to 23 members to allow for representation from a wider breadth of the community. To date, seven new board members have been recruited. Board member profiles can be found on the following Web page: Friends of Saint Paul College Foundation Board Members

Key fundraising activities will include enhancing services for donors and the addition of a planned giving program to grow endowed funds for the future. These activities will be supported by outreach to build overall awareness of the College throughout the community, and establish strong connections between the College and the local business community. The Foundation will also focus on building stronger alumni connections to the College. Grants will be sought to support programs that are aligned with the College’s strategic goals.
