What is the Power of YOU?

The Power of YOU is designed to make your dream to attend college within your reach.

The program covers the cost of tuition and fees for two years or up to 72 credits at Saint Paul College, Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) http://www.minneapolis.edu/ or Metropolitan State University http://www.metrostate.edu/ through state and federal grants and private scholarships.

Here's what the program offers eligible students:

• The Power of YOU will help you attend college tuition-free by assisting you in applying for grant-based financial aid. Tuition and fees not covered by any grants you receive will be funded by the Power of YOU program. The Power of YOU will support as many students as possible based on student need and funds available for the program.
• Advising and support services will be provided to help you succeed at college.
• If you begin the Power of YOU at Saint Paul College, MCTC or Metropolitan State University, you may be eligible for merit-based scholarships to continue on to earn a baccalaureate (four-year) degree at Metropolitan State University.

A college education is an important and necessary step to reach your personal and career goals. By the year 2010, two-thirds of the jobs will require education and skills beyond high school.
