Overview
The Chemical Technology AS Degree is designed for students planning to complete chemistry courses and general education requirements for transfer to a four- year program and/or for employment as a chemical laboratory assistant.
The Chemical Technology Certificate prepares students to assist scientists in laboratories on the research and development of chemical processes and materials to meet society’s changing needs. Working in experimental laboratories or in manufacturing and industrial plants, technicians perform a number of important duties such as the operation of laboratory equipment, evaluating product quality and consistency and testing for environmental acceptability. Students prepare for employment in a number of settings including Agriculture and Food Science, Forensics, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Environmental Laboratories.
