Program Requirements
Recommended Information Session for All New Cosmetology, Esthetics and Nail Technician Students

It is recommended that all new Cosmetology, Esthetics and Nail Technician part-time or full-time students attend a program Information Session or by instructor approval prior to each semester. At the information session, applicants and prospective students will receive information regarding the dress code, books and kits, online classes, the attendance policy and financial aid. This information session is designed to prepare you for success in the Cosmetology, Esthetics or Nail Care Technician program. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during the information session.

Overview

Esthetician services include specialized work with skin care products, analysis of skin, massage techniques, aromatherapy, facials, makeup applications, and temporary hair removal. After esthetician students complete 600 hours of skills and theory training and pass the written exam through the State designated testing service and skills certification, they are eligible for licensure through the Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners.

Saint Paul College's Esthetician Program is a CIDESCO school. This means the program prepares candidates for the CIDESCO examination. CIDESCO is an internationally recognized esthetics credential.
