​Assessment for Student Learning

Saint Paul College is committed to improving student learning through assessment and evaluation of student learning at the co-curricular, course, program, and college levels. This webpage provides an overview of student learning assessment at Saint Paul College and provides resources for faculty and staff as we continue to develop the College’s culture of assessment.

We are using the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) Transparency Framework to guide how we share information about the components of our assessment initiatives.

    Program learning outcomes are developed by faculty and are approved by Saint Paul College's Academic Affairs and Standards Council to ensure graduates have learned what they need to know in order to be successful in their career or further their educational goals. Program learning outcomes are included on each program’s Program Requirement Guide.
  • Course-level Learning Outcomes
    Course-level outcomes are developed by faculty and are approved by Saint Paul College’s Academic Affairs and Standards Council to ensure students have learned what they need to know in order to pursue additional coursework. They are archived and available as part of each course outline by semester and subject. The link above contains​ course outlines from 1998 to the present.
  • Co-Curricular Learning Outcomes (CCLOs)

• The Assessment Academy

  Saint Paul College is a graduate of the Higher Learning Commission’s Assessment Academy. The institution attended its first roundtable in summer 2017 and graduated in summer 2021. The College has an active cross-functional Assessment of Student Learning project team that is moving assessment work forward.
