We are almost done with the fifth week of Spring Semester and long extended weekend is ahead!
Here’s a brief recap of what I was up to last week:
On Monday, I attended Friends of Saint Paul College Foundation Strategic Planning Session. We focused on outreach activities to promote advocacy and generate resources to support our students at the College.
I met with the Director of the Cargill Foundation on Tuesday to discuss resource development strategies and support activities from this Foundation. I had lunch with the Executive Director of Project Success to discuss more after school programs and initiatives to augment the College Readiness activities for our partnering schools. Dean of STEM/Liberal Arts, Vice President of Academic Affairs and I met with the Executive Director of CyberWatch East to investigate the feasibility of joining the National CyberWatch Center Network.
On Wednesday, Dean of Workforce and Continuing Education, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and I met with a team of executives, as well as presidents from Inver Hills, Dakota County Technical College, and Century College to discuss partnerships for the training and professional development needs of our businesses/industries and employers in the East Metro Region. I also met with our elected officials from Minnesota House of Representatives and Senate to garner their support for Saint Paul College’s Health and Allied Sciences Building. Let’s keep our fingers crossed! I am optimistic.
On Thursday, I attended the MSPWIN Board meeting. For more information about MSPWIN, please see www.mspwin.org.
On Friday, several members of Saint Paul College Executive Leadership Team and I attended the Trends and Highlights meeting at MnSCU System office. Our team did a fantastic job by making presentations and discussing trends about academic programs and planning, student development, enrollment management, student success, finances and facilities, and human resource development at the College. I also attended the Friends of Saint Paul College Fundraising Strategic Plan.
To our students - thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with you in your educational journey! I hope all of you are doing well and making satisfactory progress - remember, we are here to assist you with your goals! Happy Valentine’s Day and enjoy this relaxing weekend.
