Saint Paul College recently held an Induction Ceremony for 16 new Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members. PTK consists of 3.5 million members from around the world. The American Association of Community Colleges names PTK the official honor society for two-year colleges. PTK provides scholarships for Transfer, Career Technical, Dual Enrollment, Nursing, and Veteran students. Their mission statement says:
We don’t just recognize students’ academic success; we give them opportunities to develop professional and leadership skills, earn scholarships, explore career paths – and make their worlds a lot bigger.

The Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholarship is an example of the many scholarships offered through PTK. Applicants must be nominated by their college’s designated nominator and demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and significant campus or community leadership and service. Eligibility requirements include completing at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, or at least 6 hours toward a 1-year certificate, and a 3.5 grade point average.
