Saint Paul College Leading the way in new Sustainable Programs

At the Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) Vision conference in Phoenix, Arizona, earlier this month, Dean of Trades & Technical Education VA Hayman Barber and Automotive Instructor Jake Yernberg took center stage with a presentation called Starting Sustainability Programs at an Urban Community College. Over 5,000 K-12 and post-secondary educators, vendors, and nationally known speakers in career & technical areas were at the conference.

The presentation demonstrated how schools can integrate EV/Hybrid teaching into the classroom through e-bikes and solar panel simulators. They highlighted our work at Saint Paul College with our new Intro to Electric Vehicles and Hybrid class, featuring our renovated EV lab and forward-thinking equipment.

This conference presentation is featured in the September 2023 issue of the ACTE publication Driving Sustainability at an Urban Community College. Saint Paul College will start a Hybrid and Electric Vehicle program in response to growing demand in 2025.
