The annual
National Leadership & Skills Conference was held June 19-24 in Atlanta, Georgia, and Saint Paul College again scored very well at this highly competitive event. Josephine Stenson received the Gold Medal for Sheet Metal, and Brandon Olson received the Silver Medal for Facilithon (Leadership in Facility Management).

Other Saint Paul College students who competed in this national event included Nathan Haugen, Sade Allison, Ryan Hostad, Anthony Durbin, and David Diesslin on the Quiz Bowl Team; Vivian Hsiao for Culinary Arts; and James Bradford for Extemporaneous Speaking. Approximately 100 students and advisors attended this event from Minnesota schools. Tom Hillstead, SkillsUSA Advisor and Saint Paul College Cabinetmaking Instructor, shares that “attending this national event always energizes our college community, especially after seeing the excitement of students on the award’s stage.”
