Week number seven skated away very quickly, especially for our students studying for midterms exams. A real spring season is just around the corner.
Here’s a brief recap of what I was up to this week:
On Monday, I attended a Friends of Saint Paul College foundation meeting where a nomination committee selected an alumnus of the year and a community partner of the year, who will be honored at the Wall of Fame Ceremony. This event will be held at the College on April 16, 2015.
On Tuesday, I attended the MN Philanthropy Board meeting.
On Wednesday, I met with a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Trustee and gave a campus tour. I also met with the College’s Executive Leadership Team, and interviewed a candidate for Vice President of Finance and Facilities/Operations at the College.
On Thursday, I participated in a Minneapolis Saint Paul Regional Workforce Innovation Network (MSPWin) Strategic Plan, and attended the Saint Paul Economic Development Partners meeting. I also interviewed the finalists for Vice President of Finance and Facilities/Operations at the College. I gave a welcome address at the Kappa Beta Delta Induction Ceremony honoring the scholarship and accomplishment of students in business, management and administration programs. What a great turn out and kudos to our students and our dedicated faculty and academic dean. I, along with the Dean of Workforce Training and Continuing Education and the Interim VP of Finance also met with a Community Based Organization to discuss short term Workforce Readiness Training for East Metro constituencies.
On Friday, I attended the weekly MnSCU Legislative WebEx Conference. I had lunch with Student Senate Leadership Team. The Executive Director of Friends of Saint Paul College foundation and I attended a meeting with a House of Representative Legislator at North Hennepin Community College in the afternoon to discuss “Learn and Earn” Legislation.

I wish you a relaxing weekend.
