We are almost done with the sixth week of Spring Semester and hoping for a Heat Wave soon - I am optimistic!
Here’s a brief recap of what I was up to this week:
On Monday, I attended an Emerging Workforce Coalition Institute meeting at the Northwest Area Foundation. We discussed how various Community Based Organizations and two year institutions can work together to address the emerging workforce needs of our constituencies in the region.
On Tuesday, I had a meeting with the MN Philanthropy Executive Search Firm and Executive Search Committee to discuss the hiring of Executive Director of MN Philanthropy and the Saint Paul Foundation. I also met with the President and Associate Vice President of Workforce Development from Minneapolis Community and Technical College to discuss the expansion of the Power of YOU program. For lunch, I, along with three Minnesota State College Presidents and our MnSCU Chancellor met with a Minnesota-based international manufacturing firm to discuss workforce trends, workforce needs and training for their manufacturing firm.
On Wednesday, I met with the College’s Executive Leadership Team and attended a Project Success showcase event in Minneapolis.
On Thursday, I met with the Neighborhood House Executive Leadership Team and Workgroup to assist with the development of the Neighborhood House Strategic Plan. In the afternoon, I met with the President of Minneapolis Community and Technical College. In the evening, I attended the Greater Twin Cities United Way Centennial Celebration in Minneapolis.
On Friday, I attended the weekly MnSCU Legislative WebEx Conference. I also attended the Faculty Shared Governance meeting. In the afternoon, I attended the funeral of one of our employee’s family members.
