Saint Paul College hosted a panel conversation sponsored by Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association with the focus on Strengthening the Manufacturing Workforce. Panelists included Rep. Tim Mahoney (DFL – St Paul), chair House Jobs Committee, Senator Carla Nelson (R – Rochester), chair Senate Education Committee and me. Key facilitators were the MPMA Government Relations Director and MPMA Executive Director. Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association is committed to strengthening the skilled workforce and drive success in precision manufacturing and promoting a positive image and the importance of manufacturing today. Approximately 50 business/industry employers/leaders attended this panel conversation. We also provided a tour of the Saint Paul College with the dean of Career and Technical Education, Workforce Training & Continuing Education representatives, and faculty. For more info go to manufacturing/machining programs and labs.

I am very grateful for the strength of our relationships with our business, industry, government and community partners. We are fortunate to have partners with whom we can have relevant conversations to ensure we are providing well-prepared, well-educated and skilled graduates who then contribute economically to this region through employment.
