Women’s Foundation of Minnesota awards grant to help the advancement of women in trades

Friends of Saint Paul College has received a new $82,500 grant from the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota to support 60 low-income and women of color who are enrolled in Saint Paul College trade programs.

Lee Roper-Batker, President & CEO of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, recognizes the importance of women in the trades and how boosting enrollment in trade programs helps break barriers; “We are excited to work in partnership with (Saint Paul College) to create a world of equal opportunity where women and girls – and ALL people – hold the power to create and live safe, prosperous lives.”

Through recruitment events, scholarships, certification courses, employer training, and networking, Saint Paul College will continue to engage women in the trades and help them down the path to a well-paying, in-demand career.
