At their annual gala event on May 20, 2021, the Friends of Saint Paul College raised over $92,000! These funds support student scholarships and emergency aid programs. This school year, the Foundation raised funds for 312 scholarships totaling over $252,000 and over $45,000 in emergency aid grants to students for unexpected needs like car repairs, utility bills, childcare, and food.
Nyleve Hanf-Campbell
The 30-minute virtual event included a message from College President Deidra Peaslee and two current students. The two students, Nyleve Hanf-Campbell, a Communications student, and Blaze Graves, a Truck Technician student, shared their personal stories of perseverance and gratitude. Nyleve shared her inspirational story of overcoming a brain tumor and other disabilities and becoming a student leader at a college that she describes as “having her back with a great support system” in helping her move forward in life. Blaze shared how his scholarship allowed him to focus on completing his education and equipped him for a great career in the heavy trucking industry. This
uplifting event benefitted many students!
Northstar level sponsors for the year received recognition at the event included APi Group, Travelers, M Health Fairview, Productivity, Inc., and Creative Integration & Design.
A list of all sponsors is posted on our website with our grateful appreciation. Next year’s gala event will be a more casual event on the campus lawn on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
