Friends of Saint Paul College has received a grant of $15,000 from the Xcel Energy Foundation to provide STEM scholarships for Saint Paul College students. Since 2010, Friends of Saint Paul College has removed barriers to postsecondary education for hundreds of community college students through scholarships and program support.
“We rely on support from important community and corporate partners such as Xcel Energy,” said Executive Director Laura Savin. “This funding will help us ensure that STEM students successfully complete postsecondary education and secure employment in STEM occupations.”
With the help of this grant and through support from other local donors, Friends of Saint Paul College will award STEM Scholarships to at least 60 low-income Saint Paul College students. Scholarship recipients complete college programs and secure employment at a much higher rate than their peers who do not receive scholarships.
