This holiday season, Saint Paul College wants to support alum-owned small businesses. We know that shopping small and locally creates a big impact on our community.
Below are five local alum-owned enterprises you can support this winter (and all year long!).
Brian Yazzie (Culinary Arts, '16)
Intertribal Foodways | Revitalizing the original food cultures of North America.
Brian Yazzie (a.k.a. Yazzie the Chef) is a Diné Chef from Dennehotso, Arizona, located in the Northeastern part of the Navajo Nation. Intertribal Foodways provides catering, tasting menus, pop-ups, presentations on indigenous foodways, chef demos, interactive cooking classes, and menu development consulting.
Tameka Jones (Esthetics, ‘03; AA, ‘12)
Lip Esteem, LLC | Plant-based, gluten and cruelty-free lipstick company
Lip Esteem also has a beauty bar where you can learn how to do make-up and an art gallery for local artists. You can purchase product or gift cards in-store (just down the road from Saint Paul College) or online.
Zinet Kemal (Computer Programming, '15)

Inspired by her own children, Zinet Kemal published two award-winning children's books: "Proud in Her Hijab,: on girls' empowerment, and "Oh, No … Hacked Again!" on teaching kids about online safety and to spark interest in young readers, especially girls, to consider cybersecurity as an exciting and meaningful career option when they grow up.
