Saint Paul College A Community & Technical College

The Fourth Week of Spring Semester

I walk through the hallways of our campus a lot. It keeps me connected with our students, and I never get tired of our conversations. But I’m also really happy to see how involved our students are with each other. Wherever I go, they’re studying together and engaged in their studies. Sometimes when I’m showing visitors around campus, they wonder out loud if we’ve “staged” all of these diverse students hanging out together. “No,” I tell them. “That’s just how Saint Paul College is.”

For me, it’s a delightful experience to see our students working in small groups and trying to problem solve. They bring real-world solutions to their studies, and they find ways to work together. That’s a type of success that is simply priceless.

I think it comes from the College being an extension of our surrounding community, and the fact that our faculty and staff are committed to making sure that our students are empowered so they can achieve their academic goals, and in the process, learn more about the world around them.

Here’s a short recap of my activities and meetings this week:

I am grateful to be a part of Saint Paul College, not only because of all the external support we receive from our partnerships and surrounding communities, but also because of all of the internal, dedicated efforts to make this such a great place for learning, where together we can celebrate both our similarities and differences.

My best,
