Eleven Saint Paul College students and two faculty advisors attended the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 23-27. Seven SPC students earned second place, Silver, in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies team competition. Dylan Olson placed second, earning Silver in Sheet Metal. Gracie Niere competed in Commercial Baking & Pastry, V. Wenham in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Brooke Richard in Cosmetology.

SkillsUSA provides Saint Paul College students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their career and technical skills and their leadership, teamwork, and time management abilities. Our students this year came from culinary, cosmetology, and various trade and tech fields. These students work diligently all year to compete with schools across the country. We are very proud of our students and advisors for this year’s success!

SkillsUSA’s National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC) is the largest gathering of America’s future skilled workers and the premier event recognizing excellence in career and technical education. Held in Atlanta each June, the NLSC is a week-long celebration with over 17,500 career-ready skilled tradespeople competing in this national event. Saint Paul College has a proud history of successfully participating in this competition for more than 35 years!
