At SPC, learning goes beyond textbooks – it’s about connecting with people from around the globe. International Education Week (IEW), a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education, emphasizes the significance of global learning and cultural exchange. International Education Week will take place from November 17 to 21, 2025, and SPC will host events that demonstrate how international perspectives enhance our campus and prepare students for success in a more interconnected world.

When you study at SPC, you become part of a community that includes 149 international students from 43 countries. Every conversation, project, and event becomes an opportunity to broaden your worldview, build cross-cultural communication skills, and gain insights that employers value. Two activities SPC will be hosting during IEW that are open to all SPC students, both international and domestic, include:

World Trivia Challenge – Monday, November 17, from noon to 1:00 PM, in Room 1115. Hosted in partnership with Global Minnesota, this event is a great opportunity for students to test their global knowledge, learn about Global Minnesota, connect with other students, and win prizes!

Culture Fair – Wednesday, November 19, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, join us for the 2nd Annual Culture Fair at the SPC Cafeteria. Experience traditions, languages, and flavors from nine different countries. Complete your “passport” by visiting each table and earn a City View Gift Card. This is your chance to explore the world, without leaving campus.

Our international student community offers unique perspectives that enhance classroom discussions and make campus life more vibrant. Whether you’re aiming for a career in business, healthcare, trades, or technology, understanding diverse cultures gives you an advantage in today’s global marketplace.

International Student Services support both current and incoming international students by providing information, support, programming, and fostering a sense of community on campus. We help students learn globally and succeed locally. During IEW, SPC will feature an international student story from a different country each day.
