Fostering College Connections (FCC) Program

The Fostering College Connections program at Saint Paul College is designed to support students with foster care experience from their first day on campus through graduation. Our mission is to create a welcoming, informed, and empowering environment where foster students can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Through individualized support, group events, and campus-wide engagement, FCC helps foster students build strong connections and access essential resources. We collaborate with statewide partners and campus departments to ensure every student receives the guidance and tools they need for success.

Foster Together MN offers a Resources Hub that provides tools, emotional support, and practical guidance for foster, kinship, and adoptive families. They have community resources, comfort kits for youth entering foster care, and monthly connect groups for parents and teens. This hub aims to create a supportive community for families navigating the foster care system.

Discover the HELP Program: Support for Adoptive, Kinship, and Foster Families – Foster Adopt Minnesota

The HELP Program provides free services to Minnesota’s adoptive, kinship, and foster families, as well as former foster youth. They assist with funding for therapy and educational offerings, ensuring that individuals have access to necessary mental health support. This program is designed to help those who have experienced foster care navigate their challenges.

Foster Parenting Minnesota & Adoption Support | Families Rising

FRMN offers a statewide network of support services for adoptive, foster, and kinship care families. They provide 1:1 parenting support, online and in-person support groups, and youth programming. Their services are free and aim to connect families with resources and community support.

Adoption, Foster Care and Kinship Supports | Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families

This department provides various supports for families involved in foster care, including financial assistance, training, and referrals to counseling services. They also offer information about the adoption process and resources for kinship care.

New Resource Hub Coming Soon – FosterStrong

FosterStrong is a dedicated resource hub for individuals impacted by foster care. They provide practical tools, educational resources, and community support aimed at helping youth and alumni navigate life after foster care. Their mission is to build a supportive community and share knowledge among those affected by the foster care system. These resources can provide valuable support and guidance for individuals who have experienced foster care, helping them navigate their unique challenges and connect with others who understand their experiences.

A Home Within – Free Therapy for Foster Youth

A Home Within is a nonprofit dedicated to providing free, long-term psychotherapy to current and former foster youth. By connecting young people with volunteer therapists who commit to “stay for as long as it takes,” the organization offers stability, healing, and hope in the face of trauma and disrupted relationships.

Student Emergency Funds

Saint Paul College has established limited emergency financial assistance to currently enrolled students who are experiencing a financial hardship due to an unexpected event or emergency. The funds are not intended to replace or supplement financial aid.
