Saint Paul College began the Fall 2025 semester with a 10.10% increase in enrollment compared to the previous year. According to preliminary data, this growth exceeds the Minnesota State system average of 3.52%.
The increase includes gains across nearly every student category:
+15.9%
Students Aged 24-35
+13.3%
PSEO Students
+12.1%
Part-time Students
+11.5%
Returning Students
+9.3%
New Students
Enrollment growth was distributed across both general education and technical programs. Areas with the most significant increases included biology, psychology, welding, truck technician, cosmetology, mathematics, and communication studies.
“This kind of growth reflects the hard work of our entire campus community,” said Greg Rathert, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. “It’s not just about numbers—it’s about creating an environment where students feel supported and ready to succeed.”
The first week buzzed with activity—full parking lots, long lines at advising and admissions, and staff stationed at entrances to assist students. Informal welcome efforts, such as hallway greeters and free donuts, helped set a tone of support and celebration.
One standout moment was the new Free Store and Food Truck event, which drew over 200 students. Whether shopping, enjoying cheesecake, or simply hanging out, students found a space to connect and experience a true sense of belonging. Due to popular demand, the Free Store will return with cold-weather gear and holiday gifts at the end of the semester.
“Our goal is to make sure every student feels seen and supported from day one,” said Pepe Wonosikou, Dean of Student Success. “This fall’s momentum is a reflection of that commitment.”
This fall’s momentum was fueled by intentional efforts across departments. From advising to onboarding, our teams worked behind the scenes and face-to-face to ensure students felt welcomed, prepared, and supported.
Here are just a few examples of how Saint Paul College staff helped students start strong this semester:
ADMISSIONS
From Application to Arrival
Behind the scenes, the Admissions & Recruitment team played a critical role in driving this fall’s enrollment growth. Through coordinated outreach, streamlined onboarding, and strong collaboration with advising and student services, they helped more students take the next step toward their goals. From application to arrival, the team ensured students had the information and support they needed to get started with confidence.

PATHWAY ADVISING
Early Connections & Classroom Presence
Pathway Advising began First Semester Advising appointments in mid-March—months earlier than usual—giving students a head start on registration and relationship-building.
Advisors visited over 30 classrooms in Spring 2025, connecting with nearly 700 students to support registration, scholarships, and graduation planning.

COLLEGE PARTNERSHIPS
PSEO Prep Sessions
To support the increase in PSEO enrollment, the College Partnerships team hosted seven Prep Sessions before the semester began. These sessions helped students build confidence and learn essential college skills like navigating campus, using D2L, and writing professional emails.
