Saint Paul College is reimagining what a campus residency can be. Drawing inspiration from the artist‑in‑residence tradition, the new IN/PLACE program invites advocates, alumni, artists, and archivists to partner with our community across two semesters to spark connection, creativity, and belonging. Applications are now open for the inaugural 2026–2027 cohort.

You’re likely familiar with the idea of an artist‑in‑residence — a creative partner embedded on campus to spark connection and new work. At Saint Paul College, we’re taking that model further.

We’re launching IN/PLACE, a new residency program that invites advocates, alumni, artists, archivists, and other community experts to collaborate directly with our students, faculty, and staff. Instead of limiting residencies to a single discipline, IN/PLACE reimagines what it means to bring community knowledge into a college environment — and to honor lived experience as expertise.

Launching IN/PLACE is exciting—and a reminder that innovation thrives on community college campuses. When we invite community partners in, that innovation expands exponentially.

Residents will join Saint Paul College over two semesters to co‑create projects, build relationships, and strengthen belonging across campus. The program was developed through our internal Innovation Grant Competition and represents one of the first multi‑disciplinary residency cohort models at a community college.

We’re recruiting up to three residents for the 2026–2027 pilot year in four areas:

Advocate‑in‑Residence
Alumni‑in‑Residence
Artist‑in‑Residence
Archivist‑in‑Residence

No formal credentials are required, and applicants may express interest in more than one residency area. If you’re a creator, connector, storyteller, advocate, organizer, or community knowledge‑holder, we invite you to apply.
